On Tuesday morning, a man’s body was discovered in a Jacksonville pond. According to authorities, the incident happened on Lee Road, just north of Atlantic Boulevard. Officers responded to reports of a drowning around 8 a.m.

A person from a nearby business noticed the man’s body in the water and immediately notified emergency services. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Dive Team and Jacksonville Fire Rescue worked together to retrieve the man’s body from the lake, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Despite the unclear circumstances surrounding the drowning, there were no visible signs of trauma and police do not suspect foul play at this time. The case is currently being treated as an undetermined death. The pond is located on a vacant lot near an abandoned house, leading authorities to believe that the man did not live there.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office through various channels such as phone, email or CrimeStoppers. The investigation remains ongoing and more details may be released as they become available.
