Natalia Grossman Takes Home Fifth Consecutive Bouldering Crown in Salt Lake City

On Sunday night, American Natalia Grossman once again demonstrated her dominance in sport climbing by winning her fifth straight bouldering crown at the IFSC World Cup stop in Salt Lake City. Despite battling a knee injury, Grossman was able to land three of the four boulders to secure the victory in front of her friends and family in her hometown.

Grossman’s win was met with applause from the crowd and her family, who were thrilled to see her succeed. Expressing pride in her performance, Grossman noted that the World Championships in Salt Lake City hold a special place in her heart because of the support of the crowd and her family. She attributed the motivation for the victory to the fact that there were many peaks in the competition.

After Grossman, France’s Oriane Bertone and Naila Meignan claimed two-three spots on the podium by also reaching the top of the three boulders. Grossman admitted that she considered not competing in the final due to injury and bigger plans for this year, but in the end she decided to go ahead and compete.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Anraku Sorato won his first IFSC World Cup title by claiming victory in men’s bouldering, while American climbers Emma Hunt and Sam Watson secured women’s speed climbing titles. The atmosphere in Salt Lake City was tense as climbers from around the world showed off their skills, making it a memorable event for all involved.
