Amherst County Health Center in Madison Heights, nearing completion, will offer a range of health services to residents. The final touches are being put in place and the center is close to opening their doors to the public.

Johnson Health Center, the organization behind the new center, said that this comprehensive approach to healthcare aims to meet the diverse needs of the Amherst County community. The new location will provide adult and pediatric primary care, behavioral health services, dental care, a pharmacy and a wellness center with fitness equipment and a teaching kitchen.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the site was held in 2023, with an opening date scheduled for early 2024. Johnson Health Center’s CEO said that this development is seen as a positive step in improving access to quality health services for residents in the area. In addition to providing healthcare services, this new development will also create employment opportunities for 13 to 20 new employees.
