West Georgia Technical College (VGTC) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Lucinda Montgomery as the new Dean of the School of Trades and Technology. Prior to this role, Montgomery served as associate dean for commerce and technology at VGTC. “Lucinda brings a wealth of experience and a commitment to excellence to our School of Business and Technology,” said Kristen Buoy, vice president for academic affairs. “I am excited to work with her and look forward to the positive impact her leadership will bring.”

Prior to joining VGTC, Montgomery was an associate professor of logistics and supply chain management at Georgia Highlands College. There she designed, developed, and taught courses in the Bachelor of Business Administration. As a reviewer for the Quality Matters program, she played a key role in certifying courses for accessibility for online learners. Montgomery is an Air Force veteran who began her career in logistics and supply chain management in 2000. She holds a master’s degree in logistics and supply chain management from Embry-Riddle Air Force University and is currently pursuing a doctorate in business administration at Georgia State University.

“I am honored to step into this new role and continue my journey with West Georgia Tech,” Montgomery said. “I look forward to working with our faculty and staff to enhance our programs and provide more opportunities for our students.”

West Georgia Technical College offers more than 120 associate degree, diploma, technical certificate degree programs across its campuses located in Carroll, Coveta, Douglas, Haralson, Troup counties as well as classrooms in Heard and Meriwether counties. A unit of the Georgia System of Technical Colleges (GSTC), VGTC is one of the largest colleges in the state system with over 90% enrollment among African American students making it one of the largest HBCUs by enrollment.
