Clyde Richards Jr., a seasoned professional with over thirty years of experience in the defense and government sectors, has been named deputy chief information officer at the National Science Foundation (NSF). Richards previously served as deputy program executive officer at the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA), where he played a key role in managing the development and implementation of information technology systems for the Department of Defense to support DCSA’s mission objectives.
Prior to his role at DCSA, Richards was the Army Mission Command portfolio director in the Office of the Administrative Assistant to the Secretary of the Army. He also served as director of the Army and Marine Corps portfolio at the Defense Contract Management Agency and as a senior program manager at the Army’s Enterprise Information Systems Program Executive Office. Richards has held a variety of leadership positions during his military service, bringing a wealth of experience to his new role at NSF.
As deputy chief information officer, Richards will be responsible for leading and managing NSF’s IT operations, including developing and implementing strategies to modernize its IT infrastructure. He will work closely with industry leaders and state CIOs to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in IT management.
