In response to the construction on 900 South in Salt Lake City, two community groups have joined forces to create a business awareness campaign called “9 Line Up.” The goal of this initiative is to support local businesses that have been affected by the construction.

Doug Flagler, representative of the Central 9th Community Council, shared that they had a meeting with several businesses on 900 South and realized the need for a campaign to help them. They partnered with community organization East Liberty Park to bring the campaign to life.

As part of “9 Line Up,” some businesses are offering promotions and hosting events to encourage people to shop locally. For example, Scion Cider Bar near 200 West is hosting a pop-up art market from noon to 5 p.m. this weekend. Rio Connelly, general manager of Scion Cider Bar, emphasized the importance of supporting local businesses and keeping money within the community.

The communities behind “9 Line Up” believe that supporting local businesses will benefit everyone in the area. They hope to organize more events in the future and have created an Instagram account for people to follow the campaign’s progress.
