Numerous studies have been conducted on the effects of chicken soup on the immune system. While there is limited research in this area, some studies have shown promising results. In a study conducted in China in 2022, researchers tested the impact of chicken broth from various breeds of chickens on the immune response of immunocompromised mice. The findings revealed that the chicken soup slowed down the movement of inflammatory cells, improved the activity of the thymus gland, and improved the structure of the spleen – all crucial factors in enhancing the immune response.

The research examined several parameters, including cytokine levels, which are known to cause unpleasant symptoms in viral diseases. While it is not yet clear how chicken soup improves these levels, preliminary findings suggest that it may do so by reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair.

When it comes to making healthy chicken soup, it is recommended to remove as much fat as possible from the chicken before cooking. This can be done by boiling the chicken until all fat has been removed and then washing it with clean water before using it in a recipe. Vegetables should also be added at the end of cooking to add flavor and nutrition without adding unnecessary calories or fat. Finally, parsley can be added for freshness and flavor, while spices like garlic and ginger can be used for their anti-inflammatory properties.
