Northern Michigan University and Marquette Junior Hockey have reached a partnership agreement that will provide various benefits to the youth hockey program and its players. In addition to NMU designating one of its hockey games as Youth Hockey Night each season, the university will give out 20 free tickets to each home game that can be distributed throughout the youth hockey organization.
As part of the agreement, Marquette Junior Hockey will be advertised in the Wildcats’ home Berry Events Center, and discounts will be offered for players to join the Young Wildcat Club. Fundraising opportunities are also available, such as group game hosts, 50-50 raffle ticket vendors, and puck vendors.
“We are thrilled about this partnership with Northern Michigan University,” said Marquette Junior Hockey President Ryan Higbee in a recent press release. “This agreement will provide our players with valuable exposure and opportunities to develop their skills.”
“We are excited to partner with Marquette Junior Hockey and support local youth sports,” said Northern Michigan University Athletic Director Rick Comley. “This is an excellent opportunity for us to give back to our community while growing the sport of hockey.”
The agreement also brings NMU hockey coaches and players into activities to enhance the development of MJH players and coaches.
