ODOT workers in Dayton, Ohio are taking extra precautions as high temperatures continue throughout the week. Despite the intense heat, ongoing projects, including those along I-75, will not be delayed. Workers were advised to take additional breaks in available shade and in vehicles. They were also instructed to keep an eye on their colleagues and ensure they stayed hydrated.

As attendees of the 2024 Daytona Air Show prepare for the event, they are encouraged to take similar precautions as ODOT workers to avoid becoming victims of the heat. Drivers are reminded to give workers enough space and to slow down in construction zones. Lorin Bryson, Public Information Officer for ODOT District 7, stressed the importance of staying hydrated, rotating physical tasks, seeking shade and checking in on coworkers throughout the workday.

Despite the heat, business will continue as usual at the Daytona Air Show, with an added emphasis on safety and heat awareness.
