OpenAI’s new CEO, Emmett Scheer, has expressed his dissatisfaction with his time at Microsoft in a post on X. He compared the experience to “selling your soul” and criticized the company for poor handling of Sam Altman’s firing, which he said severely damaged their trust.

Shir’s former colleague, Sam Altman, was fired from his position as CEO of OpenAI and replaced by Shir. Altman expressed disappointment in the situation and stated that his firing was handled poorly. He also made it clear that he wants to slow AI development, which could negatively impact the relationship between OpenAI and Microsoft.

Microsoft recently announced that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman will lead a new artificial intelligence team at the company. This news came after Altman left OpenAI to join Microsoft. There was no official response from either company about the reappointment of Emmett Shear as CEO of OpenAI or the departure of Sam Altman.
