Richard Childress Racing recently made some personnel changes in preparation for the upcoming race at Martinsville Speedway. The team has appointed Joel Keller as Chief Engineer for Team No. 3, taking over from Keith Roden, who joined RCR and the third team at the start of the 2023 season. Additionally, Austin Dillon will have a new crew chief until the end of the season, with Justin Alexander returning to the No. 3 pit box.

Martinsville Speedway holds special significance for Hendrick Motorsports, the Cup’s winningest team. The team has a strong history at this track, with past wins from drivers such as Geoff, Jimmie and now Chase.

Roden will move into a wider role within the organization to help improve the capabilities of the team’s cars. Alexander has served as Dillon’s crew chief on multiple occasions in the past, taking over the third team midway through the 2017 season and leading Dillon to victory in their first race together at the Coca-Cola 600. He also led Dillon to victory in the 2018 Daytona 500.
