Wackart, Inc., a South San Francisco-based biotechnology company, announced that Dr. Sean Tucker, its founder and chief scientific officer, will present at the World Vaccine Congress Washington 2024 in Washington, DC on April 3, 2024. This marks the company’s permanent appearance at the annual event.

During his presentation, titled “Moving the Needle: Blocking Transmission and Boosting Existing Vaccines with Oral Tablet Vaccination,” Dr. Tucker will discuss Wackart’s proprietary delivery platform for oral recombinant vaccines. These vaccines are designed to be administered via tablet, which allows for easy storage and transport without refrigeration while eliminating the risk of needlestick injuries. The company believes its tablet vaccine delivery platform is well-suited to deliver a range of vaccines, including oral versions of existing vaccines and new indications.

Wakart’s development programs include tablet vaccines against coronavirus, norovirus, influenza, as well as a therapeutic vaccine for human papillomavirus (HPV), which marks the company’s first immuno-oncology indication. Wakart has filed numerous domestic and foreign patent applications to protect its proprietary technology and creations related to oral vaccination using adenoviruses and TLR3 agonists.
