The Mental Health Nursing Residency Program is designed to provide clinical experience in the management of mental health conditions affecting the veteran population. It aims to enhance skills in diagnosis, psychiatric medication management, and psychotherapy, as well as develop strong interprofessional collaboration and expertise in the care of veterans.

The VA Finger Lakes Health System APRN Mental Health Residency program focuses on preparing advanced practice mental health registered nurses (APRNs) to deliver high-quality care to veterans, including those in rural and underserved patient populations. Eligible candidates are encouraged to apply for the program by March 8, 2024.
