President Biden and Vice President Harris visited North Carolina on Tuesday to celebrate the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act and criticize the Republican health care agenda. The trip coincided with the 14th anniversary of the signing of the Affordable Care Act, but Biden used the opportunity to blast Trump and Republicans for their attacks on abortion rights and efforts to roll back health care coverage.

Biden accused his predecessor and Republican officials of targeting the elderly, the disabled and women in an attempt to cut health care coverage. He highlighted Trump’s comments on Roe v. Wade and his suggestion during the 2016 campaign that women who have abortions should face punishment. Despite these challenges, Biden emphasized the importance of moving forward together.

North Carolina is expected to be a key battleground in the upcoming election, with polls showing a shrinking lead for Trump over Biden. The visit to North Carolina served as an opportunity for Biden to rally support for his administration’s health care policies and oppose Republican efforts to limit access to health care and abortion rights.
