India was unable to keep up with Qatar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar. The Asian champions dominated the game, securing a 3-0 win with goals from Mustafa Meshal, Almoez Ali and Yusuf Abdurisag.

Qatar’s strong start was set by Meshaal who scored in the fourth minute after capitalizing on a loose ball in the Indian penalty area. Despite Qatar’s efforts to extend their lead, they were unable to do so in the first half.

In the second half, Akram Afif missed a close-range chance to cause problems with his set delivery. However, Amrinder Singh saved a shot from Afif and Ali managed to get in and score. Substitute Yusuf Abdurisag added the third goal with a header on the post. India had few chances to score and missed opportunities by Anirudh Thapa and Sahal Abdul Samad.

While India’s midfielders played well, their forwards were unable to trouble the Asian champions. The match can be relived via a live blog on the website.
