It appears that Luka Modric (38) is nearing the end of his time with Real Madrid, writes Spanish Sport. This season, he has been unable to hold on to his starting position in the first team, with 20-year-old English prodigy Jude Bellingham taking his place. The arrival of Bellingham has sparked rumors that Modric could be leaving the club soon, and there are reports that he is considering a move to Saudi Arabia. If he were to go, it’s likely that he would be able to earn an incredible amount of money – according to some sources, he could make up to 120 million euros per season or 360 million in three years.
Another player who is reportedly set to leave Real Madrid is Karim Benzema (35), who has joined Al-Ittihad. Modric started only five of 17 games this season and did not play at all in two games. He ranks fourth in minutes played among players who have featured in 15 matches so far this season, behind only injured players. Despite this, it seems that Modric is looking for a new challenge and may be considering leaving Real Madrid before the January transfer window opens. However, it’s unlikely that the club will let him go just yet as their management has stated that they do not offer contracts longer than one year for players over the age of 30.
