Red Hawks Defy Odds: Hampden Charter School of Science East Tennis Team Secures a Thrilling Victory over Frontier

The Hampden Charter School of Science East tennis team emerged victorious against Frontier on Tuesday in a five-set thriller. Despite dropping two of their last three matches, the Red Hawks fought back and secured an impressive win. Iianla Lewis and Tiffany Munga were standout players in the singles matches, securing wins for their team and giving them an early lead. Frontier’s Thanushi Ratnatuge kept the match close by winning the final singles match.

In the doubles matches, Esther Elle and Kayla Fagan secured victory for Hampden Charter School of Science East, but it was Frontier’s first doubles team of Jasmin Ortega and Saria Brantley that sealed the deal. The win marked just the fourth combined shutout loss for Hampden Charter School of Science East this season as they continue to maintain an undefeated record of 5-0.

On the other hand, Frontier moved to 3-7 after losing to Hampden Charter School of Science East. They will look to bounce back in their upcoming match against Greenfield. Meanwhile, the girls’ team will take their momentum on the road to face Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School on Wednesday.
