Boston’s sports legends are celebrating the Celtics’ 18th NBA Finals championship. Tom Brady, a legendary former Patriots quarterback, congratulated the team with a tweet that read “Another one in Boston” followed by a shamrock emoticon. The retired football legend led the Patriots to six Super Bowl victories. Red Sox Hall of Famer and 2004 World Series Champion Pedro Martinez also took time to congratulate the team.
Magic Johnson, Lakers legend, mocked the Celtics for winning the 18th title in franchise history – putting Boston one ahead of Los Angeles for the most all-time. All of Boston took time out to celebrate the win, including the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. Politicians joined in celebrating the victory in Boston as well. President Joe Biden congratulated the Celtics, calling them “a true legacy of excellence.” Former President Barack Obama highlighted the great achievement by saying “18 titles is no easy feat – well deserved.”
