Come join us on Saturday, April 27th from 12-4pm at the Funhouse Commons for our 20th Science Fair! This event, which started in 2001, aims to highlight and inspire the scientific discoveries of young minds. After a four-year hiatus, we are thrilled to bring back this cherished tradition and add some excitement to our community.

All Orcas K-12 students are encouraged to submit their projects for the fair. We also welcome community members who are passionate about conservation and environmental science to share their work as vendors or volunteers. If you’re interested in participating, simply contact Rian@thefunhouse.org.

The Science Fair will have an Earth Day theme and will feature free food and drinks, live music, community exhibits and immersive exhibits from our youth participants. Each participant will receive a prize, with the three best projects in the elementary, middle and high school categories selected by our esteemed judges. The grand prize of the Richie Moore “Rocket Ship of Wonders” will be awarded to the best-in-show project.

Prizes for the contest include: Middle School – 1st place $500, 2nd place $350, 3rd place $250; High School – 1st place $250, 2nd place $150, 3rd place $100; Basic – 1st place $100, 2nd place $75,
