Cathy Couch, a therapist with 18 years of experience in the mental health field, has partnered with individuals from the CSI Marketing program to develop a business idea called Revired360. This initiative aims to improve access to EMDR certification for clinicians and therapists, ultimately increasing the number of professionals trained in this technique to provide higher quality care to clients.

As part of the Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge, Revired360 is among the business ideas competing for a $40,000 prize. The semifinals of the challenge will take place in Boise on April 4th and 5th. EMDR, or eye movement desensitization reconditioning, is a therapeutic technique used by Couch to help clients heal from trauma, grief, and relationship distress. It is effective for various mental health problems and has the advantage of providing fairly quick results.

Couch’s vision for improving access to care in the Magic Valley includes expanding the availability of EMDR therapy. She wants to help more people in southern Idaho by sharing her expertise with other clinicians. Through her connection with business and marketing students Natalie Klucken and Elle Whitehead from the College of Southern Idaho, a business plan for Revired360 was developed. Their goal is to educate therapists about the business side of their practice so they can focus on helping clients without worrying about logistical aspects such as marketing or billing.

The team worked on presentations and speeches while gathering all necessary information to make Revired360 a successful venture. By participating in the Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge, they hope to showcase their business idea and its potential positive impact on mental health care in the region. Couch’s ultimate goal is to make therapy more accessible and effective so that individuals can experience relief without needing long-term treatment.
