Amagi recently deployed its Zero Slate technology to Vizio WatchFree+ channels, marking the first presentation of the solution as part of Amagi’s stream personalization initiative. This new offering aims to improve the streaming experience by dynamically adjusting the length of ad breaks per viewer, eliminating the need for filler content. The personalized approach has already shown success, with a 20% increase in viewership reported on Vizio channels using Zero Slate’s capabilities.
Amagi Analytics suggests that tables, which are typically used to fill unsold ad time slots, can increase viewer churn in today’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) ecosystem. Zero Slate’s success in increasing viewer engagement highlights the importance of personalizing ad group length to ensure a high quality viewing experience. This capability is just the beginning of Amagi’s efforts to offer a more engaging linear viewing experience through Stream Personalization.
Vizio Group Vice President of Platform Content and Partnerships, Kathryn Pond, expressed her excitement about partnering with Amagi and expanding Zero Slate technology across multiple channels. Amagi’s co-founder and chief revenue officer, Srinivasan KA, also emphasized Stream Personalization’s potential impact on transforming the linear viewing experience. This collaboration demonstrates the commitment of both companies to improving the user experience and delivering personalized content.
