Anmol Kaur, a native of San Joaquin Valley from Bakersfield, is about to embark on his journey into the world of science and medicine as a first-year student at UC Merced. Following in the footsteps of her parents who have careers in medicine, Kaur was accepted into the second cohort of SJV PRIME+ medical education.

Raised in Bakersfield and a graduate of Stockdale High School, Kaur excelled academically with a 4.5 grade point average. She also participated in the Project Lead the Way biomedical science program where she engaged in hands-on activities such as DNA analysis, organ dissection and performing pig autopsies. In addition, Kaur co-founded VISE (Women in STEM Education), a non-profit organization that aims to inspire and educate young girls about STEM careers through various community initiatives.

When it comes to personal preferences, Kaur enjoys all kinds of fruit, considers herself a night owl and dreams of exploring picturesque Italian cities for a three-day weekend. Excited about the opportunities ahead, she looks forward to creating new experiences, developing relationships and growing as a young professional.

Kaur’s acceptance into the SJV PRIME+ BS/MD pathway played a significant role in her decision to attend university.

As a biological science major at UC Merced, Kaur aspires to further her experiences and passion in the fields of science and medicine. Her goal is to prepare for medical school with the support of her community while also volunteering locally.

Kaur’s academic excellence led her to be accepted into SJV PRIME+ medical education program which provided her with an opportunity to continue her educational journey.

Throughout high school, Kaur excelled academically with a 4.5 grade point average and engaged in hands-on activities such as DNA analysis and organ dissection through Project Lead The Way biomedical science program.

In addition to pursuing her passion for science and medicine through academic endeavors, Kaur also sought out leadership roles within her community by co-founding VISE (Women in STEM Education) non-profit organization.

UC Merced invited Kaur to continue his educational journey after his acceptance into the SJV PRIME+ BS/MD pathway which aligns with his aspiration towards becoming a doctor.

Excited about what lies ahead at UC Merced, Kaur is eagerly anticipating creating new memories while continuing his pursuit towards becoming a doctor.
