Sally Beauty, a leading destination for high-quality hair color and care, is partnering with The Black Hair Experience, an organization dedicated to celebrating black hair and culture. This partnership has led to the creation of the first-ever “Rooted in Success” event series which will kick off with two pop-up events on February 24th in Atlanta and March 16th in Washington, DC.

The timing of Rooted in Success is significant as it coincides with Black History and Women’s History Months, providing an opportunity for engagement between students from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), entrepreneurs, black- and women-founded beauty brands and consumers. This demonstrates Sally Beauty’s commitment to building an ecosystem that fosters connections within the textured hair community.

Sally Beauty currently carries a broad assortment of over 100 textured hair brands—over 50 of which are black-owned or owned, including national brands such as SheaMoisture, Kaleidoscope, Mielle Organics and TPH by Taraji. It’s also home to six new brands founded by Black from Sally Beauty’s small business-focused Cultivate Accelerator program.

As part of this partnership, active students enrolled at HBCUs in the US will receive 10% off in-store and online at Sally Beauty this spring. This is just one way that Sally Beauty is committed to providing opportunities for influential industry leaders to engage, inspire and connect with consumers and young entrepreneurs.

“We believe beauty is a powerful form of self-expression,” said John Goss, president of Sally Beauty. “At Rooted in Success we feature founder-led stories from both emerging and established Black beauty leaders.” He added that he was excited about the opportunity to celebrate this partnership through local events and continued support throughout the year.
