A Senior Health Fair was recently held in Leckington, organized by Bonita Tailor with the help of United Vendors of America. The event offered local seniors and assisted living residents the chance to learn about health insurance and other products and services relevant to their age group.

The fair was inspired by Taylor’s experience at a senior health fair in Frankfort, Kentucky, 15-20 years ago. After attending the fair, she felt it would be beneficial to bring a similar event to Leckington and invite the local community to participate. Aetna Medicare Solutions had a booth at the show where they talked to attendees and educated them about health insurance. Patrick Lee, a representative from Aetna Medicare Solutions, emphasized the importance of face-to-face interaction in educating seniors about intangible products like insurance.

One of the goals of the fair was to provide seniors with information about alternative and additional benefits that come with their Medicare. Taylor highlighted that many seniors are unaware of these additional benefits, so providing this information was a priority for her. In addition to informational booths, vendors also sold skin care products and jewelry, providing an opportunity for attendees to find meaningful gifts for loved ones.

The success of this event has inspired Taylor to organize another senior health fair in the near future.
