The CAA announced the weekly field hockey award winners for week 4 of the 2023 season.William & Mary junior midfielder Piper Friedman was named the CAA Player of the Week, though Monmouth freshman goaltender Jesse Eislin was named the CAA Rookie of the Week.
Piper Friedman, of William & Mary, earned Player of the Week honors. Against Towson, Friedman scored twice, 1 in the eighth and the other in the 42nd minute, to lead her group to a three-two victory. Her second aim proved to be the game-winner, marking her second game-winning aim of the season. Friedman also played the complete 60 minutes in the midfield against No. ten Liberty, assisting her group hold the Flames scoreless for 58 minutes. Having said that, Liberty managed to score two targets in the final two minutes, stopping William & Mary from securing an upset victory.
Jessie Eiselin, a freshman goalkeeper from Monmouth, was named Rookie of the Week. Eiselin picked up her initial profession shutout in the conference opener against Drekel, top her group to a 1- victory. She faced 15 shots and produced a profession-ideal nine saves, posting a best 1.000 save percentage. In the earlier matchup against Wagner, Eiselin produced 5 saves and posted a .833 save percentage in 60 minutes of action in Monmouth’s four-1 victory.
