Anne Prendergast, a highly experienced asset manager with 23 years of service at State Street Global Advisors, has been appointed as the new head of business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Emea). She takes over from Rory Tobin, who retired in June after nine years in the role.

In her previous position, Prendergast was responsible for portfolio management, distribution, product development, fund management and operations across the EU. Her expertise and leadership skills have earned her recognition as one of the 100 most influential women in finance this year by Financial News. With this new appointment, State Street now has two women in top management positions.

Reporting directly to President and CEO of State Street Global Advisors, Iie-Hsin Hung, Prendergast will lead a team of approximately 500 employees across Emea. She will continue to work from the State Street office in Dublin.

Hung expressed his confidence in Prendergast’s abilities to lead the Emea business forward. He praised her deep industry knowledge, strong client orientation, regulatory experience and leadership strengths. This new appointment comes as State Street Global Advisors continues to make strides in the asset management industry.
