On November 14th, Illinois State University students in data science, mathematics and statistics had a highly productive day at JUMP OSF in Peoria. The undergraduate and graduate students immersed themselves in data analytics, automation and statistics, experienced real-world applications, and honed their skills.

The day’s highlight was the extensive networking opportunities that allowed students to connect with industry professionals. This enthusiastic engagement marked the day as a huge success and helped bridge the gap between academia and practical knowledge.

The Department of Mathematics expressed its sincere appreciation to the Data Analysis, Automation and Statistics teams at JUMP OSF for their generosity in hosting students. The collaborative spirit and dedication of the JUMP OSF team were instrumental in making the day a huge success. Additionally, the department thanked the College of Arts and Sciences for funding transportation for this visit.

During their visit, students participated in a job shadowing event where they had the opportunity to engage with OSF JUMP Simulation staff members. During their lunch break at OSF’s JUMP Simulation, they were able to further interact and learn from professionals in the field. Overall, this experience provided valuable insights into data science and its practical applications that will benefit these students throughout their careers.
