The South Georgia Technical College (SGTC) Automotive Technology Advisory Committee recently held a meeting at the SGTC Americus campus to discuss the state of the program and the industry as a whole. The committee’s main purpose is to assist SGTC faculty and staff in improving the Automotive Technology program. At the meeting, instructors Brandon Dean and Carey Mahone provided updates and information on program changes, enrollment, community activities and student news. Committee members also offer suggestions for curriculum improvements, new training opportunities and potential job prospects for students. Among the members present at the meeting were representatives of Miller Auto Parts, as well as SGTC instructors and Academic Dean Dr. David Finley. The Advisory Committee serves as a vital link between the College and industry, ensuring that students are well prepared for their careers after graduation.
