In Sunday’s game against the Seahawks, Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery suffered a thigh injury. As a result, the team decided to add another running back to its 53-man roster. Mike McCartney’s agent has confirmed that his client Zonovan Knight will be signed from the team’s practice squad. Knight previously joined the practice squad after being released by the Jets over the summer. Last season, Knight played in seven games and started four for the Jets. During that time, he recorded 85 catches for 300 yards and one touchdown, as well as 13 catches for 100 yards.

After the injury, Montgomery said he expected to be out for several weeks. However, head coach Dan Campbell described his status as day-to-day during Monday’s press conference. Additionally, the Lions have first-round pick Jahmir Gibbs available in the backfield to provide support.
