Drury GO is hosting a Mental Health Seminar on September 25, 2023 at Drury GO’s Saint Robert Campus. The seminar is focused on self-awareness and mental health and aims to raise awareness in Saint Robert and surrounding areas, especially among members of the military. The event will feature noted psychotherapist and educator, Dr. Stephan Baker, who will bring his wealth of expertise to the seminar.
Dr. Baker has a strong background in military service and has been serving the St. Louis counseling community since 2018. He gained valuable experience through his work at the Jefferson Barracks VA Hospital, where he closely assisted veterans in combat. Dr. Baker specializes in EMDR and VIR, trauma-focused interventions that integrate visual imagery substitution and eye movement desensitization. In addition, he is an active lieutenant colonel in the Army and is scheduled to retire in 2023 as a provost marshal.
The seminar will focus on helping individuals who have experienced trauma, providing support for those dealing with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and anger management issues. Dr. Baker’s therapeutic approach is centered on equipping clients with coping tools, building resilience, and eliminating barriers to self-actualization.
