ALPENA — Seniors will have a day complete of well being and fitness ideas Wednesday at the Alpena Senior Center 501 River Street.
The Senior Center has partnered with the MiMicһigan Һealtһ Division of Neighborhood Education and other nearby specialists and educators to present a Senior Well being and Fitness Fair from 11:30 a.m. to three p.m. on Wednesday, which is National Well being and Fitness Day. for the elderly.
The senior center is hosting the plan for the very first time this year.
“I’ve constantly wanted to do it in the previous, so this year we’re performing it,” stated BJ Sander, plan manager for the Alpena Senior Citizens Center.
Sander leads a senior workout class at ten a.m. just about every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning, and stated numerous seniors have observed good benefits from participating in the class.
She added that typical workout can strengthen balance, general physical well being, mental well being, and group classes deliver a social chance.
“This is a way to give back to them for becoming committed to their well being,” Sander stated of the participants in her workout class.

Presentations involve Nutrition at 12:30 p.m., Prevention of Heat-Associated Illness at 12:45 p.m., Spiritual Care and Loneliness at 1:00 p.m., Osteoporosis and Nutrition at 1:15 p.m., Osteoporosis and Therapy Solutions at 1:30 p.m., Rehabilitation Center at 1:45 p.m. , Fall Danger Prevention at two:00 p.m., Senior Applications at two:15 p.m., and Physical Therapy Overview at two:30 p.m.
