Preparations are being made for the upcoming TJS event in May 2025. The Jewelry Symposium (TJS), formerly known as the Santa Fe Symposium, recently held its second gathering on jewelry technology. This international event focuses on the advancement of jewelry making technology and attracted over 100 participants, including jewelry makers, students, and experts.
The symposium featured seventeen distinguished speakers from leading producers and trade associations such as the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), the Platinum Guild International (PGI) and former experts from the World Gold Council (VGC). The presentations covered both traditional jewelry making techniques such as pressed metal molds and guilloche ornaments as well as cutting-edge achievements in artificial intelligence and additive manufacturing (3D printing).
In addition to formal sessions, attendees had extensive networking opportunities to engage in one-on-one discussions and exchange ideas, inspiration, and best practices. “We are delighted with the passionate response we have had to the TJS 2024 event,” says TJS Board Chairman Linus Drogs. He further expressed that the industry will face similar challenges and inspirations with AI technology as it did with computer-aided design in the past.
