The McDrummond family, who own BnT’s American Treasures, is facing significant losses as the freehold and clearance process continues at the vacant Yard Birds shopping center. This weekend, their trailer was stolen from the property, leaving them without a crucial piece of equipment for their retail cleaning business.
The theft occurred when someone physically unlocked the BnT gate and removed it from its hinges, granting access to the area where the trailer was located. The thieves then took the trailer around noon on Saturday. The 14-foot double axle trailer with side racks and metal stakes was used daily by Blake and Corey McDrummond for various purposes related to their property.
Although Darris McDaniel initiated the giveaway at Yard Birds to clear the building for a potential sale, he did not allow anyone inside due to liability concerns. Instead, items from the mall were placed outside along the walls of the structure. Some of these items included personal belongings that had not yet been removed by the McDrummonds after the mall closed in 2022.
A police report has been filed regarding the stolen trailer, and a reward is being offered for any information leading to its recovery. Tana McDrummond, who reached out to the community for help finding her husband’s trailer, can be contacted via her Facebook page. The giveaway at Yard Birds is ongoing, with new items added daily.
