On Sunday morning, a serious traffic accident occurred on the A1 highway near Drežnik, Karlovac. The Karlovac Police Department reported that a 55-year-old man driving a passenger car with Ogulin license plates collided with a police vehicle driven by a 56-year-old man with Zagreb license plates. The collision occurred due to the inappropriate speed of the vehicle in a slight bend and caused both vehicles to hit the metal guardrail of the central belt.
The impact of the collision seriously injured the 55-year-old driver, while the 56-year-old driver and a 53-year-old passenger from his vehicle were slightly injured. The police department has ordered that the 56-year-old driver be held responsible for causing the accident and has issued him a mandatory misdemeanor order. The report will be forwarded to the competent state prosecutor for further action.
