Dr. Bruce Aronwald, a doctor who has been treating former President Donald Trump since 2021, released a letter on Monday stating that Trump is in “excellent” health and his cognitive exams were “outstanding.” This comes after the 77-year-old made verbal gaffes during a recent interview that brought attention to his age.

In the letter, Aronwald wrote that Trump’s last “comprehensive check-up” was on September 13, 2023, and that his cardiovascular studies were all normal, cancer screening tests were negative and he had reduced his weight. However, the letter does not provide any details about the specific tests taken or their results. In 2015, Trump’s campaign released a similar letter from Dr. Harold Bornstein who later stated that Trump dictated the letter to him.

During his time in office, Trump received a certificate of health from Dr. Ronny Jackson, the presidential physician at the time. Jackson, now a congressman and one of Trump’s staunchest supporters, spoke about Trump’s health during a White House press briefing in January 2018 praising him for having “good genes,” how he did extremely well on his cognitive test and his “excellent” heart health. According to FEC filings, Aronwald donated to Chris Christie’s 2015 presidential campaign.
