The 2024 World Nature Photography Awards have announced the winners, with stunning images of marine life in their natural habitats taking center stage. Among the winning images is the grand prize-winning photo of gannets fighting for fish in the Shetland Islands.

This year’s competition featured underwater photographs that stood out among thousands of entries from around the world, showcasing the beauty of whales, sea lions, sea turtles and more in their underwater environment.

In addition to celebrating nature photography, the contest also contributes to conservation efforts. For every photo received and every winning print sold in their online store, the World Nature Photography Awards team plants a tree to help preserve these precious habitats.

Among the top prizes in this year’s competition are nine mesmerizing underwater photographs that capture the essence of marine life in all its glory.
