Venezuela has just won the Copa America group stage for only the second time in their history, with their first victory coming in 2007. This is the first time they have won all three of their games in this tournament, and Salomon Rondon, their all-time top scorer, played a major role in their success by scoring his 43rd international goal. Jamaica, on the other hand, are still without a point at the Copa America and have not won in nine games.
Meanwhile, Ecuador has made it to the quarter-finals of the Copa America for the third time in four editions after finishing as runners-up in Group B. Mexico was eliminated from the tournament after drawing with Ecuador at State Farm Stadium on Sunday. This is the first time Mexico has been eliminated in the group stage after opening with a win. They have failed to advance three times when they needed a win in their final group game.
