Washington and Lee University’s Connolly Center for Entrepreneurship is hosting its first Creative Showcase on April 4 from 5-8 p.m. The event, held in H. Harte Center for Teaching and Learning at Leyburn Library, is free and open to the public.

The Creative Showcase aims to bridge the gap between academic theory and entrepreneurial practice by giving V&L students a platform to showcase their innovative ideas and execution skills. Students worked collaboratively to develop their own business concepts and products, gaining valuable experience in navigating the real dynamics of entrepreneurship.

According to Anushka Daunt, assistant professor of business administration, the expo offers a hands-on experience that benefits V&L students in several ways. They not only learn how to develop projects in theory but also get the opportunity to professionally present their work, simulating a real business environment. This experience allows them to build confidence in their abilities and better understand the practical aspects of entrepreneurship.

The Creative Showcase will feature an array of innovations ranging from new apps to simplifying social media usage, cutting-edge medical devices, consumer goods for everyday use, and engaging board games. These projects are interdisciplinary, with contributions from various academic departments, highlighting the diverse talents of V&L students.

Attendees can expect an evening filled with inspiration, creativity, and networking opportunities as they explore the innovative ideas presented by V&L students. The Creative Showcase promises to be an exciting event that showcases the entrepreneurial spirit of Washington and Lee University students.
