WhatsApp, the popular messaging service owned by technology company Meta, is currently facing technical issues. Users have reported difficulties sending messages on the platform, suggesting that the service is not functioning properly for everyone. In response, WhatsApp acknowledged the disruption and stated that they are actively working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

The Downdetector website has recorded over 20,000 reports of problems related to WhatsApp. The disruptions started around 21:10 Finnish time, according to WhatsApp’s official status site. While other Meta services such as Instagram have also faced outages, the number of reported issues is significantly lower compared to WhatsApp.

Tech site The Vergen reported that the problems with WhatsApp were specifically related to establishing a connection, while other services within Meta such as Instagram, Threads and Facebook did not experience similar problems. This isn’t the first time Meta services have faced widespread outages; similar issues emerged in early March affecting Instagram, Facebook and Threads.

Despite ongoing disruptions, users are encouraged to stay updated with WhatsApp’s official status updates. The company is working diligently to resolve these issues and ensure that users can continue using the messaging service without interruption.
