On a day of rain and clouds, the aerial competition in Lac-Beauport, Canada saw Winter Winecki earn her third individual victory of the season. The American team had a strong showing, with five women and two men advancing to the finals.
Winecki missed the previous day’s final but qualified in second place on Sunday. In the final, she nearly lost her balance but managed to place sixth to advance to the super final. Chris Lillis took a hard fall in the final but avoided injury.
In the final round, Winecki came out on top with a back lay-full-full as the only woman to attempt a triple. This was her third individual win and fourth overall win of the season, earning her the yellow leader’s title.
The team will now head to Almaty, Kazakhstan for their final World Cup of the season on March 10th following a period of rest and training.
