On Thursday at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago, a young girl was sexually assaulted by a suspect who offered to help her find her group. The incident happened on the second floor of the museum, where the attack took place while the girl was using the restroom.

The suspect entered the room and crawled under the stall door, touching the child inappropriately. The girl reacted by kicking the suspect, who then ran from the toilet.

Authorities issued a community alert on Saturday saying that a 10-year-old girl had been approached by a suspect who offered to help her find her group. The child was taken to the second floor of the museum and asked to use the restroom, where the attack occurred.

The suspect is described as a male in his 30s to 40s, weighing 160 to 180 pounds, and standing 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 3 inches tall. He is believed to have curly light brown hair, a beard and a tattoo of a roaring lion on his neck.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Detective Bureau’s Special Investigations Unit at 312-492-3810.
