Apple’s iPad Pro Line to Get a Generational Leap with New OLED Screens and M3 Chip

Apple is set to release new iPad Pro models with OLED screens in early May, bringing significant advances in display technology to its devices. This update will see the iPad Pro line expand with a 12.9-inch screen model, aimed at satisfying users looking for a larger screen on an affordable device.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new iPad Pro models will be equipped with Apple’s M3 chip, introducing a new generation of internal processors that promise improved performance and energy efficiency. The Magic Keyboard update is also expected to include a larger trackpad, offering users a more comfortable and productive experience. In contrast, the iPad Air is rumored to have the previous generation M2 chip, showing Apple’s commitment to delivering high performance even in its more affordable devices. The new Air will be available in two screen sizes: a standard 10.9-inch version and a larger 12.9-inch variant.

This upcoming update marks a significant generational leap for both product lines. Originally expected to be unveiled in late March or April, the unveiling of the new devices has been pushed back to May as Apple needs more time to complete software development. This release is strategically positioned just before the Worldwide Developers Conference (WVDC) 2024, which is scheduled for June 10, allowing Apple to announce additional software and hardware innovations.
