It has been announced that the general director of Austro Control will be leaving the country at the end of April. She was previously on the supervisory board of Ankerbrot Holding and its subsidiary Anker Snack & Coffee GmbH. In addition, she was appointed to the supervisory board of Strabag, the largest European construction company.
However, she did not comment on this news for KURIER.
In February, Kerstin Gelbmann took over as president of Strabag, replacing Alfred Gusenbauer as chairman of the supervisory board. Gelbmann is also Grosnig’s right-hand man and chairman of the supervisory board at Ankerbrot and a board member at Austro Holding and the Private Foundation of the Hasselsteiner family. However, Grosnigg and Hasselsteiner lost a member of their supervisory board when Karin Eckner-Wohrer resigned from her positions at Signa.
The current general manager was brought to Austro Control by Norbert Hofer and was extended by Leonore Gevesler for two years with directive rights. Haklova has been flawless in air traffic control and has the support of Günther Offner, deputy chairman of the supervisory board. Huckle was previously on the OBB passenger transport board and served as interim transport minister after the Ibiza scandal.
It is surprising that no announcement has yet been made about who will replace Haklova as head of Austro-Control in the ministry, despite this change being decided last year. The Ministry stated that a tender would be held soon after updating and evaluating the position description. The process to replace Austria’s most powerful official in this department is currently underway, with applications open until April 29th.
