Aaron LaBerge, who has served as chief technology officer at Disney Entertainment and ESPN for over 20 years, is stepping down from the company. In an internal memo to staff, LaBerge stated that his departure was due to personal reasons and expressed confidence in the team’s ability to make a smooth transition.

LaBerge plans to work with company leaders until his departure in June to ensure a seamless handover. After leaving Disney, he will take up the role of CTO at PENN Entertainment, the parent company of ESPN Bet, the network’s online sportsbook. The move represents a significant change for LaBerge after spending many years at Disney but he is excited about the new challenges it brings.

LaBerge thanked his colleagues at Disney for the opportunities they provided him during his tenure and looked forward to a successful transition into his new role at PENN Entertainment. The team has made significant progress over the past 15 months and LaBerge is confident that they will continue to build on this success even in his absence.
