Last Saturday, Diego’s, a popular taco restaurant and bar in Uptown Kingston, closed its doors for good after ten years in business. Owner Isaac Cruz made the announcement on Instagram, citing the challenges of the pandemic lockdown and rising costs as reasons for the closure.

In his Instagram post, Cruz expressed his gratitude to supporters while acknowledging the difficulties facing businesses during the pandemic. He explained that the decision to close was ultimately forced upon them due to significant increases in operating costs over the past few years. Despite the tough times, Cruz described a determination to hang on as long as possible.

Diego invited fans to stay updated on his future plans by following them on Instagram, where he will announce his upcoming sales events for the summer. The company hopes to continue serving its beloved tacos to customers in new and innovative ways in the future by switching to a food truck or trailer.
