Expanding to Two Locations: The MetroHealth System Men’s Health Fair is Back, Focused on Early Detection and Intervention through Free Screenings and Education

The MetroHealth System Men’s Health Fair will return this year, expanding to two locations on Saturday. The fair will offer a range of free health screenings, education, and career resources to attendees from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Alex B. Center on the Cuyahoga Community College Metropolitan Campus as well as at the MetroHealth Cleveland Heights Medical Center. Registration is encouraged but walk-ins are welcome, and shuttle services will be available from various locations in Cleveland.

During last year’s fair, attendees received worrying statistics, with a high percentage of them showing signs of health problems such as high cholesterol and blood sugar levels, as well as abnormal PSA levels that indicated an increased risk of prostate cancer. Those identified with potential health problems could be connected to a MetroHealth provider for follow-up care.

Dr. Charles Modlin, urologist and MetroHealth’s vice president and chief health equity officer, emphasized the importance of prioritizing health and recognizing that everyone deserves the opportunity to live a long and healthy life. The Men’s Health Fair aims to positively impact the lives of participants and ultimately save lives through early detection and intervention by providing a wide range of health screenings and education on topics such as cholesterol, diabetes, heart health, and more.
