FCPS students win awards at the 2023 International Science and Engineering Fair

5 students from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) won awards at the 2023 International Science and Engineering Fair, held not too long ago in Dallas.

The award winners in the category are:

• Elizaveta Plis Falls Church Higher College, fourth prize in animal science for her project The influence of the accumulation of Zophobas morio beetle larvae on the consumption of polystyrene foam.
• Mihika Dusad and Aryaman Khanna from Thomas Jefferson Higher College of Science and Technologies, third prize in Engineering Technologies: Statistics and Dynamics for their project HypeFL: A New Blockchain-Primarily based Architecture Working with Federated Understanding and Cooperative Perception for a Totally Connected Autonomous Car Method.
• Rohan Kalahasti from Thomas Jefferson Higher College of Science and Technologies, the third prize in Robotics and Intelligent Machines for his project Hybrid plasticity: adaptive brain-like artificial intelligence by means of prefrontal cortex-inspired meta-studying.
• Shinyoung Jeon from Thomas Jefferson Higher College of Science and Technologies, second prize in systems computer software for her project MoodBok: Vocal screening for depression and gamified relief.

More than 1,600 students from 49 states and 64 nations, regions and territories participated in the 2023 International Science Fair.
