On April 20, 2024, the 5th Annual Kinetic Derby Day with iMAGINE will be held in West Columbia on State and Meeting Streets. The day begins with a Kinetic Sculpture Parade at 10:30am on Meeting Street, where participants dressed as cartoon characters show off their human-powered vehicles.
After the parade, attendees can head to the iMAGINE STEAM Festival on State Street, which features over 30 interactive booths highlighting science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) for all ages. Children will enjoy the Children’s Zone with bounce houses and obstacle courses, providing fun for the whole family.
In addition to the STEAM festival, there will also be a Meeting Street Artisan Market, a giant slide, a food truck rally, and chalk artists displaying their work. For those looking for a little thrill, the Meeting Street Soapbox and Obstacle Races at 11am and 1.30pm will offer exciting competitions for participants of all ages.
