After a decade with ABC News, senior meteorologist Rob Marciano has left the network. A source familiar with the situation confirmed the news to USA TODAY, and Puk News was the first to report Marciano’s departure. During his time at ABC, Marciano shared his weather insights on shows as diverse as “ABC World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Good Morning America” and “Good Morning America: Weekend Edition.” Before joining ABC in 2014, he co-hosted Entertainment Tonight for nearly two years.
Marciano’s most recent coverage focused on Shreveport, Louisiana’s recovery from the destructive June 2023 storm, which aired on “ABC World News Tonight” and the ABC News website last week. A representative for ABC News declined to comment on his departure, and USA TODAY has reached out to Marciano’s representative for a statement.
In a September Instagram post celebrating his 10th year with ABC News, Marciano hinted at his plans to contribute to all ABC shows and platforms during the week, allowing for more quality time with his children on weekends. He shares two children with his ex-wife Erin Marciano, who filed for divorce from the meteorologist in 2021. Marciano also teased an “exciting new project with NatGeo” that would involve exploring fascinating topics.
