Influential Leaders Unite for Global Citizen NOV Event to Tackle Food Insecurity, Climate Change and Empower Underrepresented Voices

The Global Citizen NOV event is set to take place in New York on May 1 and 2, with several celebrities such as Michelle Yeoh, Hugh Jackman, Danai Gurira and Dakota Johnson among the attendees. The event aims to tackle issues related to food insecurity and climate change, bringing together influential decision makers from politics, business and philanthropy.

Michelle Yeoh, an Oscar winner, expressed her commitment to advancing ideas that aim to end extreme poverty. The summit seeks to create a global agenda for urgent action to address the challenges associated with extreme poverty. Other notable attendees include Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi and Verizon CEO Hans Westberg.

Hugh Evans, CEO of Global Citizen, emphasized the importance of addressing critical issues that require urgent attention. Actors such as Hugh Jackman, Danai Gurira and Dakota Johnson will participate in the event alongside representatives of companies such as Cisco, Citi, Delta and PayPal.

Danai Gurira expressed her focus on empowering underrepresented voices and addressing inequality in Africa. The Global Citizen NOV event will also announce initiatives related to the conservation of the Amazon rainforest and increased investment in Africa through the World Bank. Organizers aim to inspire the next generation of advocates, especially Gen Z and millennial leaders by highlighting five young individuals who are making extraordinary efforts to create positive change in the world through the Global Citizen Prize.
